As a prelude to the Air Region 3 Military Balloon Championship, the Gao Air Base 300 Command organized a cohesion sports event on October 10, 2025, between its 2015 class and those of the Army. The match was held on the field of Camp 1 Firhoun Ag Alinçar, in a friendly and dynamic atmosphere.
The kickoff was given by Brigadier General Mamadou Massaoulé SAMAKÉ, commander of the Joint Theater Command Post (PCIAT-East) for Operation Dougoukoloko, thus highlighting the importance of the event in the regional military calendar.
This initiative aims to revive bonds between the different units, strengthen esprit de corps, and offer soldiers a moment of relaxation outside of the operational framework. Beyond the military football, this day was an opportunity to celebrate the values of solidarity, respect, and self-improvement.
At the end of the competitions, trophies, medals, and certificates were awarded to the best teams and the most deserving players in several disciplines: pétanque, football, military football, shooting, and shot put, organized as part of the previous sporting activities.
The organizers praised the participants' dedication and reaffirmed their commitment to making sport a vehicle for cohesion and morale within the armed forces.
