Camp N°1: The Gendarmerie search brigade seized a large quantity of cocaine

As part of the fight against crime, the Commander of the research brigade of Camp No. 1 of the Bamako Gendarmerie, Second Lieutenant Alassane KEÏTA and his elements have just got their hands on 04 individuals including 02 men and 02 women of foreign nationalities. The operation took place on Saturday April 20, 2024, in Sogoniko, in commune VI of the Bamako District. It was during a search that these people were caught in possession of a large quantity of cocaine, destined for a neighboring country. Investigations are ongoing and they will soon be presented in court.
According to the commander of the research brigade, Second Lieutenant Alassane KEÏTA, since the beginning of April, they have received information on the presence of individuals who will engage in drug trafficking. It was during a descent that these 04 individuals of foreign nationalities were arrested, they were preparing to embark for a neighboring country. They were taken to the brigade office. After a long interrogation, they admitted that the product was cocaine, packaged in the form of bricks. The Deputy Lieutenant declared that the products were seized and that investigations are underway, in particular, the exploitation of a cell phone and other sources will make it possible to dismantle the network.
In his speech, he took the opportunity to invite the population to much more collaboration, within the framework of sharing information to effectively fight crime. He also thanked the population for their participation alongside their Defense and Security forces, all of which constitutes a great contribution. Second Lieutenant KEÏTA concluded by saying that crime can exist in several forms and that these ill-intentioned individuals always integrate into the population, even if it means denouncing them to put an end to this scourge.
The Company Commander of the Bamako Gendarmerie, Left Bank, Captain William H DEMBELE took the opportunity to recall that these narcotics have harmful consequences not only on the national economy but especially on the health of the population. He also affirmed that most of this trafficking is organized clandestinely and that without reliable information from the population, it would be very difficult to fight against the phenomenon. He finished, by launching an appeal to the population, not to hesitate to call the number 80 00 11 14, to report any suspicious behavior or any criminal act in order to allow rapid response.
