The Armed Forces Social Action Office of Defense Zone 2 held a school kit distribution ceremony on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, for the benefit of orphans of fallen soldiers and paramilitaries.
Presided over by Lieutenant Colonel Boubacar Mariko, Head of the Operations and Employment Division of the 2nd Military Region, the ceremony was attended by the Head of the Social Action Office, Captain Aïchatou Yattará. Also present were the parents of the beneficiaries and the facility's staff.
A total of 350 school bags were distributed to first and second-cycle students to ease the school burden for the families of fallen soldiers.
The children expressed their joy at this gesture of solidarity, while their parents praised the Malian Armed Forces' continued commitment to the families of fallen soldiers. Captain Yattara urged the students to demonstrate diligence and rigor throughout the 2025-2026 school year, while thanking the generous donors: the Mayor of the Urban Commune of Ségou, the TA mutual insurance company, and the DSSA.
Two students were recognized for their academic excellence: Diarafa Cheick Diakite, a high school student, and Alpha Guindo, a junior high school student.
This initiative illustrates the Malian Armed Forces' commitment to supporting the families of fallen soldiers and investing in the future of children.
