The formal ceremony marking the official launch of the teaching programs for the 3rd class of the Security Forces Staff College (EEFS) took place on Thursday, October 2, 2025, in the amphitheater of the said school. It was attended by several military officials.
For this academic year, 30 trainees, including 26 from Mali, 2 from Niger, and 2 from Burkina Faso, are taking part in this 9-month training program.
This opening ceremony is not only a solemn moment, but also a strong symbol of Mali's commitment to strengthening the command and planning capabilities of its defense and security forces.
This training will enable trainees to become competent executives capable of effectively responding to contemporary security challenges by instilling in them managerial skills and valuable knowledge in security risk analysis and management.
The Acting Secretary General of the Ministry of Security and Civil Protection, Colonel Mamadou SOUGOUNA, stated that the official celebration of the start of the third class is under the theme of "inertia and strategic vision of command within the maritime defense and security forces." According to him, given the security context in our countries, the security forces have no other choice but to equip themselves with well-trained personnel to stem the phenomenon of insecurity, a real obstacle to the social well-being of our populations.
Addressing the trainees of the third class, Colonel SOUGOUNA asked them to be united. And to understand that being a leader is not just about giving orders, it is also about leading the way, assuming responsibility, and embodying the values ​​for which your men will agree to give their best tomorrow.
In his speech, the Commander of the Security Forces Staff College, Colonel Sékou DOUMBIA, emphasized that this school is a strategic lever; in this sense, it not only trains security elites capable of thinking, planning, coordinating, and conducting operations with method and rigor, but also embodies enlightened leadership in the service of the Republic. He indicated that the training the trainees will receive this year is demanding. It is cross-disciplinary and requires discipline, intellectual endurance, and a spirit of ethics.
The mission of the Security Forces Staff College is to train officers capable of assuming staff, planning, and operational leadership roles.
It should be noted that the Chief of Staff of the Air Force, Brigadier General Alou Boï DIARRA, hosted a conference to officially launch the program.
