GAO: Graduation of the First Cutting and Sewing Class from the Armed Forces Social Service Training Center

The graduation ceremony for the first class of the Cutting and Sewing training program at the Armed Forces Social Service Training Center (Military Region No. 1) took place on Saturday, October 3, 2026, on the Center's premises at the Firhoun Ag Alinçar Camp in Gao.
The ceremony was attended by the Zone Commander, Colonel Ibrahim SAMASSA; representatives of the heads of security force services; and the Prefect of Gao, Benenan MOUNKORO; alongside various guests and dignitaries from the region.

A total of fifteen (15) individuals—fourteen (14) women and one (1) man—completed the three-year cutting and sewing training program at the Center.
Operating in the field of social welfare, the Armed Forces Social Service (DSSA) launched this training program with the support of humanitarian partners and professional institutions specializing in sewing. The initiative aims to foster the socio-professional integration of military spouses, widows, and children by equipping them with professional skills that contribute to their economic empowerment.
The ceremony featured the presentation of training completion certificates to the graduates, as well as gifts for the top four students in the class. These top graduates received sewing machines, work tables, and cutting and measuring equipment to support their entry into the workforce.

During the event, the graduates also showcased several garments created during their training in a fashion presentation, highlighting the skills and craftsmanship they had acquired.
