The event was attended by numerous military, civil, political, administrative, and religious officials, as well as several of his fellow officers from his graduating class.

Born on December 22, 1948, in Bafoulabé, retired Brigadier General Sirakoro SANGARE was the son of Guedjouma and Aminata SAKILIBA. He enlisted voluntarily on December 3, 1969, joining the Command and Support Company (CCS). Driven by a desire to serve and to further his professional development, he subsequently joined the special platoon at the EMIA (Joint Military School). Upon completing his initial officer training, he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant and began a career that saw him steadily rise through the ranks of the military hierarchy, culminating in his promotion to the rank of Brigadier General in October 2010.

Throughout his career, Brigadier General Sirakoro SANGARE undertook various training courses and programs, notably in the Soviet Union, at the Staff College, and at the Joint War College in France, where he studied from 1993 to 1994. His career was also marked by several distinctions, including the Campaign Commemorative Medal, the Military Valor Cross, and the rank of Knight of the National Order of Mali. A graduate of the 4th class of the *École Militaire InterArmes* (EMIA), the military career of retired Brigadier General Sirakoro Sangaré was defined by a keen sense of duty, unwavering commitment, and a profound dedication to serving the nation.

Speaking on behalf of the EMIA’s 4th class, retired Colonel-Major Karamoko Niaré paid tribute to his fellow graduate. He hailed him as "a man of virtue, always devoted to the service of others," recalling the long journey they shared—one marked by moments of both joy and hardship.
"We traveled a long road together, one of joy and sometimes sorrow. Rest in peace, dear comrade," he concluded.
Through these military honors, the extended family of the Malian Armed Forces paid a final tribute to retired Brigadier General Sirakoro Sangaré, a man whose life was dedicated to the defense of the nation.

Following the ceremony, the deceased’s remains were handed over to his family for burial.
Beyond honoring the general officer, the Malian Armed Forces also pay their respects to the memory of a husband, a brother, a relative, and a loved one.

Rest in peace, General.
