BASE 100: Official Visit of the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces to the Air Force Headquarters

The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Élisée Jean DAO, accompanied by the Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations, Brigadier General Massaoulé SAMAKE, as well as several military officials, paid an official visit to the Air Force Headquarters at Base 100 on Thursday, August 13, 2026.
The purpose of this visit was to present his command vision and to observe firsthand the operations of the Air Force, a strategic component of the Malian Armed Forces.

Upon arrival at Base 100, the delegation was received by the Chief of Staff of the Air Force, Brigadier General Alou Boi DIARRA. The ensuing discussions allowed the Chief of the General Staff of the Air Force (CEMGA) to reiterate his main priorities and provide directives to Air Force officials.
Major General Élisée Jean DAO also commended the work accomplished by Air Force personnel in defending national airspace and the support provided to ground forces in various theaters of operation.
Speaking on behalf of all Air Force personnel, Brigadier General Alou Boi DIARRA thanked the CEMGA for the visit. He reaffirmed his staff's commitment to continuing its fight against terrorism throughout the national territory.
The visit concluded with the CEMGA touring the various Air Force sub-directorates. On this occasion, Major General Élisée Jean DAO met with personnel and provided guidance aimed at further strengthening operational effectiveness, cohesion, and synergy within the units.

This official visit demonstrates the Chief of the General Staff's commitment to enhancing oversight of the various components of the Malian Armed Forces, harmonizing actions, and consolidating cohesion within the chain of command.
